The Sr. Cost Analyst will be working with procurement, contracts & scheduling to produce key measurements.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide project control support to the PM team which may include cost reporting, material expediting, invoice tracking, account reconciliation, project status reports & various other project related activities
2. Provide advice & direction to project team that may be comprised of internal & external service providers.
3. Determine schedule/cost/scope trends & advise of potential problem areas & recommend solutions to cost impact or delays
4. Analyze financial information & recognize significant variances, trends, & irregularities & understand the causes/driver
5. Report & analyze project progress using an earned value basis
6. Collect data, inputs, update and produce standard management reports, Actual vs. Budget and /or Forecast
7. Research unexpected items & resolve inaccuracies
8. Demonstrate attention to details with a focus on accuracy, completeness & meeting deadlines & commitments
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Degree in Accounting / Finance, or related field required
Min. 5 years direct experience in a Cost Analyst role on a large EPCM Project
Min. Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Familiarity with the overall basic terminology of a projects principle practices and concepts, project cost forecasting & budgets
Strong knowledge of unit rates, material and equipment pricing, labor pricing & other estimate components & techniques
Strong ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details & follow work rules
Exceptional analytical skills & logical thought processes
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
