consultants will report to the Information Services (IS) Business Systems Manager and will be expected to follow the IS PMO methodology and project document templates. The methodology will be based on project management best practices as outlined by PMI and PRINCE2.
The key responsibilities of the consulting resource(s) will include:
o Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders
o Engage with Supply Management Services for the development of Request for Proposal.
o Draft a Project Initiation Document (PID), project schedule, and risk log
o Gather and develop project team members including definition of roles with assistance from IS staff
o If required, analyze data migration requirements, evaluate options for data migration, create corresponding documentation and manage the data migration process
o Plan and conduct kick off meetings with vendor, business, and IS teams
o Be the first point of contact with software vendors and liaison between IS and business team
o Plan, facilitate and document all project meetings and conference calls
o Assist with drafting of test plans and coordinate testing (including the testing issues log)
a. Manage testing phase including test error management and problem resolution
b. Provide support during user testing
o Obtain sign off of all deliverables
o Monitor and communicate project status that includes project status updates, scope, issue and risk management
o Assist in issue resolutions including change requests through a change management process if necessary
o Draft training strategy
o Coordinate production implementation including data migration, production cutover and user shakedown testing
o Project closure
