Description

The RM of Spiritwood No. 496, located in the heart of the parkland region has an employment opportunity available for a Full Time Permanent Foreman position.

The Foreman will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Plan, supervise and co-ordinate daily municipal operations and projects
Assist council & administration with infrastructure planning and maintenance
Provide project cost estimates & budget requirements
Provide written reports to council, government agencies, and other organizations as required
Respond to requests from the public
Supervise, evaluate, train and develop outside employees
Delegate responsibilities & tasks to outside employees
Establish work schedules
Co-ordinate & manage work projects
Oversee day to day operation of municipal workshops
Maintain daily log records
Operate municipal equipment when needed
Ensure OH & S & municipal safety policies are in place  
Perform other duties as requested and/or assigned by Council or the Administrator

Required Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, computer and typing skills, strong organizational skills

The successful candidate must be motivated, enthusiastic, goal oriented & able to work unsupervised in a team setting. The position can be physically demanding and requires attention to detail, decision making, planning, time management & organizational skills.

Applicants possessing supervisory experience and knowledge of heavy equipment will be given preference. Salary will be based on qualifications & experience.

Health & Dental, Disability, Vision & MEPP are provided.
Approximately 40 -50 hours/week.
Required Certification: High School or equivalent, WHMIS, TDG, FirstAid/CPR.
A Class 5 Drivers License is imperative.
The successful applicant must supply their own steel toed safety boots.
All other PPE is provided.
