The individual must be a self-starter, have strong interpersonal skills. There is significant amount of direct contact with the executive, board of directors, volunteers, sponsors and related industry contacts.
Will be accountable to the Board of Directors for the management of all affairs and activities of the Association in accordance with the bylaws, business plan and policies established by the board.
The position is very hands on and requires involvement in all activities of the Association.
The person will be responsible for the day- to- day supervision of maintenance and office staff and will oversee the rental of facilities and grounds.
Ideal candidate will be familiar with concepts involved in economic development and marketing.
Experience with fairs, agricultural showcases, trade shows or public events an asset.
Strong written and oral communication skills required to apply for grant applications, secure large sponsorships and create other income generating ideas.
Successful candidate should possess a strong background in financial, human resources and business management.
Available to work flexible hours due to evening meetings and increased workload leading up to events such as the Exhibition.
Good working knowledge of computers and software programs such as Sage 50.
