Description

Contango is looking for a talented, highly motivated scientist/engineer to join our team. Contango is a vibrant, growing, leading-edge company that operates a research laboratory and pilot-scale testing facilities to support our consulting services for biological water treatment in the mining sector. Examples of technologies we work with include treatment wetlands, bioreactors (active and semi-passive), and in situ treatment processes. Contango helps mining companies with regulatory and licensing processes, and performs the necessary piloting and optimization work in our pilot facilities. Contango has the only independent lab in North America that provides genetic microbial profiling analysis.
As a senior scientist/engineer you will design, coordinate, and report on practical experiments to be carried out by our team of technologists and junior scientists. You are skilled at data analysis and interpretation for process design and optimization for biogeochemical processes. You will be involved on projects from initial site studies to pilot and demonstration-scale through to implementation at full scale. As well, you will lead and manage projects, including proposal preparation, technical reporting, cost tracking, and resource management. You will also contribute to closure and reclamation plans, reclamation research plans, and other regulatory submissions for clients. Biological mine-water treatment is complex, requiring creative thinking and integration of information from many disciplines and a desire for continual learning and improvement. A strong knowledge of chemistry, preferably geochemistry or biogeochemistry is necessary as a foundation for the position.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to advance your career in a dynamic company with huge growth potential. Strong project and client management skills and outstanding writing skills are key to your success at Contango. See full job description at www.contangostrategies.com/careers.
