The home study worker is responsible for:
- The recruitment, assessment and training of foster care providers for children, youth and clients.
- For coordinating the provision of comprehensive specialized foster care home services for children in temporary or permeant care and children at risk,
- Recruiting and actively promoting the foster care program in the community,
- Investigating, assessing and counselling new foster parents applicants to determine suitability.
- Conducting pre-service education and assessment of foster home applicants
- Conducting annual review of foster home
- Conducting in depth home studies and document all aspects of an applicants life.
- Provide counseling and support services and ongoing training to foster parents
- Investigate quality of care issues and reassessments of active foster parents
- Consult with First Nations
- Follow established protocols as part of the planning process to ensure quality foster care service delivery.
This is a term position: February 1,2018 to February 1 2019
