Our client, READ Saskatoon addresses and supports the advancement of literacy and learning in our community. READ provides access to a range of literacy services for adults and families through the work of staff, trained volunteers and community partners.
READ Saskatoon has a long history as a local literacy organization that offers free literacy services to adults and families. Since 1979 READ have provided adult tutoring services with the help of trained volunteers and community partners. READ have expanded to offer adult, family, and financial literacy programs, as well as literacy facilitator trainings and resources.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Communications & Events Coordinator with a January start date.
Duties include:
Create an ambassador program that incorporates a speakers bureau
E-newsletter: write, select photos, layout and send current updates.
Website: Manage READ Saskatoons website and its content. Monitor the effectiveness of site using analytic software and make changes as required.
Social Media: Provide status updates on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and drive traffic to the website and blog, time permitting.
Blog and web content: Research and develop meaningful content, time permitting, that our residents want to know and share. Research and develop content for READ Saskatoons blog
Literacy Program Support: Provide communications support for marketing and sponsorship and fundraising departmental initiatives.
Partner with READ Saskatoon team to communicate/advertise events to ensure information is posted on all media outlets, including print, and electronic formats
