SED Systems is looking for talented and motivated individuals to join our growing team.

SED Systems specializes in developing complex hardware and software systems for cable, telecommunications, satellite communications, and defense applications. The company enjoys an international reputation for excellence and delivers systems to customers worldwide. SED operates out of a custom-built facility in a beautiful research and development park adjacent to the University of Saskatchewan.

The Position:

Technologists in our Production and Manufacturing Engineering areas conduct prescribed tests, evaluate engineering documentation and develop manufacturing documentation, improve shop floor efficiency through development and implementation of techniques, processes, and equipment; and work on problem resolution.

Responsibilities:

Conduct tests following prescribed test procedures on SED projects;
Troubleshoot to the component level, any problems that arise during test;
Document problems found in test;
Ensure the defective components are repaired correctly and repairs are carried out efficiently and in observance of SED's standards and project requirements;
Repair customer equipment both at SED and on site;
Document and implement processes for assembly area;
Support assembly personnel;
Specify and/or fabricate tools, fixtures, jigs, consumables, etc;
Assist in the maintenance of equipment and fixtures;
Assist engineering and senior personnel in the assembly and test of prototypes, engineering development models, and test fixtures; and,
Review engineering designs and documentation for manufacturability.

The Person:

The position will be of interest to candidates that are well acquainted with troubleshooting techniques gained from either several years of on-the-job experience or a two-year electronics technology course from a recognized technical institute. The ability to work well in a team environment is required.
