Description

Olysky is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team.  This position is responsible for assisting in the administration of specific Finance functions including capital assets and major disbursements, review and analysis of general ledger accounts, and assisting in other areas of accounting and administration as necessary.
General Responsibilities
Ensure project proposals are supported by required documentation
Enter proposals into major disbursement tracking program
Liaison with Facilities and other departments as required to ensure that project costs are tracked
Assist in the administration of accounting processes
Obtain appropriate approvals and check for completeness and accuracy
Enter related invoices into accounting system (Great Plains Dynamics) for payment and tracking project progress
Ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of data
Assist with period end entry of journal entries, inventory, sales, work orders, etc. as required
Assist in analyzing general ledger accounts
Provide support for the budget and year end functions
Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial reports
Assist in all duties of the Finance Department as needed
Education/Experience Required
Experience with project management or project costing would be an asset
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously
Exceptional organizational skills and detail-oriented
Accounts payable experience is an asset
Intermediate knowledge level of spreadsheets and accounting software
Ability to deal professionally with both vendors and employees
Ability to work independently but a strong team player
Ability to work in a changing environment while meeting deadlines
Minimum of one-year post-secondary training in accounting, business admin or related discipline is required
