An employee in this job will provide technical and administrative support to regulatory services related to the delivery of the Aquatic Habitat Protection Program. This employee will be responsible for assignments of low to regular complexity.
Duties and responsibilities include, as required:
Reviewing and issuing aquatic habitat protection permit applications
Mitigating negative impact to aquatic and riparian habitat
Responding to requests for guidance and information related the permitting process
Work is primarily performed in an office environment
Qualifications and Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be working on or recently graduated with a degree in science with specialization in environmental science or ecology. Preference will be given to applicants with an applied knowledge of Saskatchewan aquatic and riparian species and the habitat that supports their life processes; knowledge of spreadsheet, data management and Geographical Information Systems (GIS); and skills in written and verbal communication and an ability to prepare and complete accurate reports and other documentations.
Work is primarily performed in an office environment, but work may require considerable travel, an irregular work schedule and, on occasion, extended absences from headquarters. Travel, sustenance, and accommodations will be provided when required to work away from headquarters.
