The Tri-Trades Instructor will prepare graduates for entry level positions in order to service and repair off-road and on-road vehicles and heavy equipment. The Tri-Trades Instructor will be responsible for delivering Tri-Trades curriculum to adult students registered in the course. Courses of instruction include, but are not limited to: Air Conditioning & Heating; Brake Systems; Bearings; Seals; Clutches & Transmissions; Differentials & Final Drives; Track & Undercarriage; fundamentals of Electrical Systems; Starting & Charging Circuits; Diesel fuel Systems; Equipment Operation & Maintenance; Basics Hydraulics; Shop Tools; Procedures & Safety; Mathematics; Industrial Communications and Work Placement.
Additional duties include classroom management; taking attendance and submitting on a regular basis; monitoring student progress and submitting on a regular basis; and other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are a Journeyperson in one or more of the following trades; Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Auto Mechanics; Truck & Transport Mechanical Repairs along with 2 years recent relevant post Journey experience in the trade; strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience teaching in a cross-cultural adult education setting and a proven ability to work with minimal supervision. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
