This position works out of the Poundmaker II office.
Candidates should have experience providing administative services to more than one lawyer in a multi-office environment. This is a great position for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. Must be comfortable using computer-based applications for administrative tasks as well as learning new applications. Ability to pass a background check.
Description:
Manage & assist legal department in day-to-day administrative tasks
Manage & execute timely delivery of assigned legal tasks
Manage lawyer's calendars, correspondence and emails
Prepare correspondence, reports & emails
Arrange & coordinate meetings within the staff & with the staff & clients
Assist & support administrative staff & other personnel in executing their tasks & responsibilities
Qualifications:
Bachelors or completion of legal administrative assistant diploma
Exceptional organizational skills & attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, mature & respectful manner
Function effectively as part of a team as well as independently
Minimum 3 years professional office experience
Autonomy, initiative, good judgment, capacity to provide solutions & independent decision-making skills
Able to demonstrate flexibility with job responsibilities
Able to multi-task
Understand the importance of discretion & confidentiality of staff, lawyers & all clients
Solid keyboarding skills, MS Word, Excel
Knowledge of Cree language & culture
Must pass a drug test upon hire
