The successful applicant will join a project teams defining, developing, testing, & delivering satellite resource planning & management systems. These systems use complex mathematical models & algorithms to analyze satellite network performance, to plan & optimize the allocation of network resources & to present results through sophisticated graphical user interfaces.
The Person:
This will be of interest to candidates with a bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Eng Physics & a min of 3-5 yrs experience. A postgrad degree is considered an asset.Experience with satellite/cellular network technology is essential.
Knowledge in the following is an asset:
Satellite & terrestrial network architectures
Antennas & coverage analysis
Satellite communications payload concepts
Modulation & coding
Link analysis(propagation modeling)
Protocols at physical, MAC, network & transport levels
Resource management concepts & methods
Interference analysis & mitigation
Virtualization of network functions
Knowledge in the following areas is relevant:
Statistical methods for traffic & quality of service analysis
Multi-attribute optimization
Planning & decision support methodology
Scheduling methods for mapping traffic to link capacity
Deep learning methods for reducing dimensionality of an optimization problem
Experience in the following is considered an asset:
Matlab
Python
Word, Excel, Visio
C, C++, Java
The ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory. All candidates will be required to apply for a Government Security Clearance.
