Description

The Field Service Representative is accountable to provide accurate, leading-edge information and technology on poultry managment to industry stakeholders, the research community, co-workers and peers in the Field Service Team.  Position takes a lead role and liaises with industy and stakeholder groups in providing the right product  for our processors (customers).  This role reports to the Director of Live Procurement and Field Service.

Key Accountabilities:
-Provide technical information and support to producers with key issues that arise within the production period of raw poultry (brooding, ventilation, lighting programs, water management, feed management, sanitation, grow-out, feed withdrawal, vaccines). Maintain effective relationships, innovative and advanced services for both turkey and broiler farms;
-Keep job related records and producer data base.  Keep adequate and sufficient data on each producer throughout the grow-out period to ensure that customers have product information;
-Maintain a high level of regular communication.  Provide farm visit updates and schedules to the Sr. Field Service Rep.  Communicate with assigned customers on service calls, farm visits and information transfer;
-Review production data. Review results with producers and make recommendations to improve product quality.
-Inform facilities of quality issues.  Inform hatchery of the quality of products produced by the hatchery.  Inform the plant of the quality of product they will be receiving.

Requirements:
-A B.Sc (Ag) in Animal and Poultry Science or a related degree.  An equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered;
-Class 5 drivers licence.  Provide and maintain a clean Drivers Abstract;
-A detailed understanding of agricultural research techniques and ability to relate scientific findings to practical applications is essential;
-Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point).
