Description

Individual needed asap for part time youth mentor and respite provider for a youth with a cognitive disability.  Position will be approximately 10-15hours/week. Possibly opportunity available for more than one person. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Experience working with adolescents who have cognitive disabilities will be considered an asset.  Previous training in Autism preferred.  A calm, understanding personality would be ideal.

Applicants must be able to maintain professional boundaries and handle confidential information.  Must have good organization and time management skills, and be able to work independently.   A valid drivers license and vehicle is required.  Successful candidate may be subject to a criminal record check. Applicant will have hours arranged in advance and provide mentorship service in the family home and community setting.  
Responsibilities include:
-Initiating weekly contact with parent to arrange a schedule the youth/arranging
- Transportation before and after school
-Planning outings with the youth
-Working with the youth in the community and/or in the youths home  
Wage/Salary: $18.00/hour
