Description

Employer currently has a position available for a permanent, full-time Sr. Environmental Planner at the Estevan Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent of Technical Services, this position is responsible for implementing and maintaining the environmental program. at the Estevan Mine.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
- Monitoring the environmental program to ensure compliance with air, water and reclamation permit requirements.
- Ensuring quality control in the sampling program for air and water.
- Maintaining environmental monitoring and report records.
- Assisting in the planning and implementation of reclamation programs and water management.
- Collaborating with governmental agencies and other staff personnel.
- Liaise with landowners and customers
- Administer land portfolio
- Plan, oversee and compile development applications
- Maintain, compile and submit government reports
- Be a leader in safety in the support of the Health & Safety Program
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as may be required in response to changing circumstances and the economical and physical environment of the Company.
  
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
- Possess a University/Technical degree or diploma in an environmental or agricultural field with related experience. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrate the ability to acquire and apply knowledge of safety and health practices and procedures.
- Be able to set objectives which are realistic but aggressive.
- Adapt effectively to tight deadlines, heavy workloads and sudden or frequent changes in priority in order to accomplish objectives.
- Be a highly motivated self-starter, possessing good interpersonal and organizational skills.
