Job Title: Farm Foreman, HCI Farms Russell Ltd
Reports to: General Manager of Crop Production, HCI Ventures Ltd
Job Overview and Role
The Farm Foreman for HCI Farms Russell Ltd oversees all farming operations with a focus on executing annual cropping plans within budget. The Farm Foreman works closely with Farm Leads at other HCI farm locations in Saskatchewan in gaining knowledge and defining efficiencies of resources (personnel, equipment, etc.)
Job Responsibilities and Duties
1. Conduct farm operations and activities as per annual cropping plan
2. Supervise seasonal farm staff:
3. Work closely with General Manager to plan and source all crop inputs and equipment needs as well as marketing of all grain produce:
4. Operate within expenditure budget for farm operations:
a. Maintenance
b. Building and yard repairs
c. Labor in consultation with general manager
d. Pursue work place and general operation efficiencies
5. Conduct other general business tasks as required allowing for HCI Farms Russell Ltd to be successful and profitable:
Job Qualifications
Education level: At minimum high school diploma; under graduate degree in agriculture or alternatively a diploma in agriculture is desired.
Experience: 5 or more years of farming experience, ideally as owner operator of a farm. Consideration would also be given to a farm background (family or similar) and 3-5 or more years of agriculture industry experience
Desired skills: experienced and familiar with farm equipment operations, ability to communicate (oral, written, listening), computer literate, crop production and agronomy, grain marketing
Certifications and Licenses: although not critical, theres benefit of being a P.Ag and/or Certified Crop Advisor and having 1A drivers license as well as applicable safety certifications
