Description

Reporting directly to the Program Coordinators, the Team Leader will be responsible for the supervision of Direct Support Workers in a residential setting.

Duties: such as those described below are representative of the range of responsibilities for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

- Act as a liaison between program coordinators and staff in the residential programs
- Attends all residential team meetings
- Monitoring for programming inconsistencies
- Oversee client medicals / financials
- Back fill for staff
- Be responsible for critical medical appointments
- Ensure clients' needs are met
- Ensure consistent approaches are being followed
- On-call rotation
- Trouble shoot and identify potential problem areas

Preferred Qualifications:
- Has had previous experience providing direct "hands on" support for people with disabilities
- Related post-secondary education is an asset
- Excellent organizational, communication and mentoring skills
- Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills
- A working knowledge of the following:
    *Crisis prevention and interventions techniques
    * Knowledge of various intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Police record check
- Valid driver's license
