Description

Brandt is currently seeking Production Planners for our new Saskatoon Manufacturing Facility. Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Production Planners are responsible for the short term scheduling and long term planning. The incumbent is to work with shop management, purchasing, engineering and other related personnel to ensure on-time delivery and an accurate schedule. Responsibilities include:

    Short term scheduling of the plant activities for an orderly flow of parts and materials
    Communicate with Material Handling and Purchasing
    Participate in the production meetings
    Make visible obstacles impeding on-time delivery
    Communicate with Managers and Supervisors to ensure manpower is always available to fulfill production requirements
    Report and update standard hours within manufacturing system
    Write up production orders within the manufacturing system
    Assist purchasing in regards to priorities
    Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
    Must be capable of working under minimum supervision and assist department personnel when required
    Helps with work cell layout in plant
    Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
    Must have experience with Microsoft Office as well as Scheduling and Planning
    Must have Lean manufacturing training and experience
    Must have a working knowledge of steel fabrication, industrial equipment and machine shop practices
    Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, is required
    Understanding of work flow and constraints theories
    High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
    Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
    Experience using manufacturing software is considered an asset
    Understanding of AutoCAD / Solid works is considered an asset.
