The primary role of the Drafting/Design Technologist is to create preliminary project drawings used for marketing and pricing purposes as well as develop as-built, shop, and architectural drawings as required.
Qualifications and Abilities:
- Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Agricultural Technology
- Ability to work in a team setting as well as independently sometimes on monotonous tasks
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve
- Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure with time-sensitive deadlines
- Knowledge of construction standards and building codes associated with the project(s)
- Superior knowledge and capability in reading blueprints/structural drawings
- Proficient in MS Project and the MS Office Suite of products
- Proficient in Sharepoint software
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, and/or Tekla experience
- Familiarity with Agricultural facility operations would be an asset
- Grain cleaner, material handling and storage systems
- Fertilizer bulk storage, handling, and blending systems
- Knowledge of equipment schematics and system flow diagrams
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop Marketing/Sales Drawings
- Develop As-Built Drawings
- Develop Shop Drawings
- Develop Architectural Drawings
- Assist in upkeep and development of all Design/Drafting Department job/project tracking tools
Working Conditions:
- Minimum 40hr work week with overtime as required
- Travel as required
- On call work as required
- Primarily wokring at office locations however may require exposure to safety sensitive field environments as required
