Description

The Activity Leaders are responsible for planning, promoting and organizing the Summer Fun activities for children and youth of all ages and abilities. Essential duties include:
Planning and presenting activities at City operated parks and playgrounds.
Being a positive and enthusiastic role model, interacting with children to enhance their Summer Fun experience.
Promoting all activities and events as well as encouraging and motivating children to participate.
Leading trips and carrying out meal duties.
Maintaining a safe, supportive environment for children to participate in Summer Fun activities.
Other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates registered in a related field of study including: Education, Early Learning and Child Care and Early Childhood Development.
Effective verbal and written communications skills; preference will be given to candidates fluent in a minority language
First Aid and CPR C would be considered an asset.
Prior experience working with children of all ages.
Ability to work collaboratively with fellow colleagues on event planning.
Previous experience organizing and delivering programs and special events.
Demonstrated ability to be a positive role model for children.
This position is contingent on receiving a satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check prior to start date.
