Description

Position Summary:
As an integral member of the forest seedling nursery worker team you will carry out activities related to container grown forest seedling production in an environment consisting of greenhouses and outdoor growing compounds. No experience necessary as full training will be provided. Tasks assigned are specific to the growing season but will include the following:
All aspects of forest seedling production from soil mixing, sowing, weeding, and transplanting various species of seedling crops.
Providing support for the seedling harvest including crop delivery to the sorting area and washing/sanitizing empty growing containers.
Working on both manual and automated production lines in the sorting, wrapping, and packaging of trees for shipment to customers.
Maintaining a continuous focus on safety, injury prevention, and customer service in all aspects of production.
Compensation & Workplace Culture:
You will have the potential to earn from $12 to over $20 per hour depending upon the assigned task and growing season. Some tasks are paid by the hour while others are paid at piece rate with greater earnings potential.
Most work is Monday to Friday and flexible hours may be available to accommodate school and family responsibilities. Shift work may also be an option depending on work project.
Although work is seasonal there is opportunity to return for the next work project or growing season.
Assistance in arranging transportation to the nursery may be possible.

Qualifications:
Ability to perform the physical aspects of the position which includes standing for lengthy periods of time, walking, repetitive lifting, (light to medium weight objects), and performing repetitive movements
Ability to get along with others, work independently and as part of a team
Reliable and motivated to work
