Description

Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Environment Division has an immediate opening for a Technologist in the Air and Climate Business Unit.  As the ideal candidate, you will contribute to the growth of the Air Quality business line by assisting with ambient air monitoring programs.  

Accountabilities
    Conduct maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting and QA/QC for ambient air monitoring stations
    Maintain the Quality Assurance Plan and related standard operating procedures
    Validate data and develop reports
    Identify and resolve data quality issues and implement process efficiencies
    Assist with stack sampling and indoor air sampling programs as required

Qualifications
    A Chemical or Environmental Technology Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
    2-5 years of experience working with instrumentation maintenance and calibration
    Experience working with continuous ambient air monitoring equipment and data is an asset
    Valid Class 5 drivers licence

Skills
    A team player with effective interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
    Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
    Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and help where needed
    Demonstrates understanding of field and lab safety practices and the operation of air monitoring equipment
    Experience using Microsoft Office and database software

Working Conditions
    Some out-of-town travel, normally during the week and occasional extended travel for up to 5 days
    Overtime hours during the week are required and occasional weekend work may be required
    Occasional heavy lifting (up to 25 kg)

The chosen candidate may be required to successfully pass alcohol and drug-screening tests as a condition of meeting site specific standards.  

This position is located in Saskatoon or Regina
