The Prevention Institute focuses on primary prevention that aims to prevent disabling conditions from occurring by eliminating or modifying risk factors that can occur before or during pregnancy or after birth.For further information on the Prevention Institute, go to skprevention.ca.

This position is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares similar passions and values as the Prevention Institute and who is ready to build upon the solid and successful foundation in place. Requirements:
Education and Experience:
    A Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline alongside relevant experience.  A focus on Health Education or similar would be an asset.
    A minimum of 7 years working in Leadership role.
    Experience working with a not-for-profit organization in management or volunteer capacity with an understanding of philanthropy, and working with a Board of Directors
    Background experience in a research, fact-based, or educational role is ideal.
    Positive leader of people, able to empower, mentor, motivate, and support the team.
    Experience dealing with financial accountability including budgeting, writing grant proposals, etc.
Skills and Competencies:
    Dynamic and versatile communication skills; written and verbal.
    Ability to learn and adapt, catches on quickly.
    Ability to assess the situation, is a problem-solver and able to provide solutions.
    Proactive, strong organizational skills, able to prioritize.
    Ability to appropriately adapt based on the audience.
    Strong negotiations skills.
