The Executive Director position is a new role for Sakimay First Nations and will be accountable and report directly to Chief and Council.  In this new role, the individual will be ultimately responsible for: working with leadership and staff in implementing the Sakimay First Nations community and strategic plans; implementing the annual Administration Office operational plan; as well as helping to strategically advance the long-term vision of nation-building for Sakimay First Nations.  This role will also be asked to develop a good working relationship with the Sakimay Entities.  

As an experienced and confident leader with proven strategic, organizational/team building, business planning, and communications skills, the Executive Director is accountable for:

- Serving as the key executive-level management leader of the Sakimay First Nations  
- Leading a team of 3-4 direct reports and overseeing a $7.5M+ annual budget
- Ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of programs and services to Sakimay members
- Delivering on the strategic plan developed by Chief and Council
- Support, co-ordinate, and help advance Sakimays aspirations and plans regarding nation-building, self-determination, and law development  
- Ensure the advancement of member engagement
- Build relationships with municipal, provincial, federal, and other First Nations and key stakeholders

In addition to these responsibilities, the Executive Director will also oversee the Government Planning & Strategy Office, which includes staff and resources related to governance, trust administration, Chief & Council secretariat support, and community engagement.
