Description

Regina Public Schools is seeking a Supervisor of Transportation. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the cost-effective operation of all aspects of student transportation, including buses and light vehicle transportation. This involves monitoring all aspects of performance of contracted service providers to ensure that contractors meet or exceed tender requirements, including proper vehicle and driver safety standards, maintaining databases and dedicated software, planning and revising bus routing within established procedures, preparing and monitoring related budgets, and communicating with schools and parents regarding transportation matters in a professional manner, seeking equitable solutions based on a thorough analysis of the issues and school board procedures.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of applying strong organizational and analytical skills to manage projects within tight deadlines and will have demonstrated exceptional communication skills and managerial courage, including dealing with difficult and emotionally charged situations. The candidate is also required to have the ability to bring resources together to get things done and to foster positive relationships while maintaining fidelity to the mission and procedures of the school division. Experience in business, project management or transportation is required, and post-secondary education in a related field, such as business, is preferred.

While all applications will be acknowledged, only those candidates chosen for further consideration will be contacted.
