Description

The Moose Jaw Multicultural Council is looking for a dynamic full-time LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) Instructor at the literacy level.

The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching 2 part-time literacy LINC classes, lesson planning, maintaining records and ensuring attendance, ongoing assessment, creating and maintaining student portfolios and preparing/submitting monthly/quarterly reports.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
-TESL Certification in Saskatchewan (CERTESL) or acceptable certification from another province or other relevant education and combined experience may also be considered
-The ability to obtain membership to TESL Saskatchewan
-Experience teaching/working with English as a Second Language to adult newcomers
-In depth understanding of and experience using the Canadian Language Benchmarks (especially at the literacy level) and the LINC Curriculum Guidelines
-Experience and knowledge with PBLA considered a strong asset
-Ability to adapt teaching methodology to the needs/skill levels of individual learners.
-experience working with multi-levels classrooms
-Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
-Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of adult immigrants and refugees.
-Ability to work independently with excellent organizational and time management skills.
-Ability to obtain a criminal record and vulnerable sector check
