Description

Melfort Daycare Cooperative Site #1, #2 and #3 are licensed for 105 children.  The daycare is open Monday to Friday.  The center will provide high quality childcare for infants, toddlers and
preschool children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.  

Required Qualifications:  ECE Level 3 or a
Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood; First
Aid/CPR certificate; Police Record Check including vulnerable sector check.  Valid class 5 driver's license and reliable vehicle is required.

The Assistant Director is to work closely with the Director in developing and supporting policies, procedures, standards, and programs that enable employees to provide the best possible childcare.  
The Assistant Director is also responsible for
serving as a role model to staff, follow childcare regulations, assist in development of Inclusion Program Plans, provide family support, and support the teen parent program. Other duties include: daily administration tasks, review sign in sheets, conduct and record fire drills, assist with budgeting and financials, communicate with the Board, attend Board of Director meetings, fill in as Director when needed and aid the Director in any other duties the Director assigns.

Demonstrated skill in organizational planning and
leadership.
Excellent written, verbal communication and
interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in a wide variety of computer
applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, and other
programs.  Experience with Sage 50 PRO is
considered an asset.
Ability to be proactive and creative in problem
solving and decision making.
Time management with daily duties and project
management.
Knowledge of Collective Agreements, Employment
Contracts, policies and procedures.
Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
Ability to participate within a team setting.
