Duties and responsibilities:
The temporary Community Relations & Event Coordinator will be responsible for the successful coordination and delivery of fund development activities, most notably all events leading up to and including Ability Bowl, for the Swift Current Region until April 30, 2018.
- Plan, develop and deliver all fund development activities related to Ability Bowl including all mini events leading up to the April 21, 2018 Ability Bowl fundraiser
- Provides expertise and support to the Branch Management Team, to develop and coordinate marketing efforts throughout the Swift Current Region where necessary
- Promote and recruit sponsorship and participants for Ability Bowl in the community
- Recruit volunteers and committee members as needed for Ability Bowl and any additional pre events
- Take the lead in creation of event posters, sponsorship/team packages, media promotion and all other promotional materials or activities for Ability Bowl and pre-events
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with businesses, organizations, community partners, media partners, government and funders
- Leads the volunteer and staff teams to successful outcomes for Ability Bowl and secondary lead up events
Qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary education with a degree or certificate in the field of marketing, communications, event planning, fundraising or project management
- Over 2 years directly related experience
- Positive, outgoing attitude. Self-starter. Leadership abilities, public relations, & event management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including comfort in public speaking
- Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and database software
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience in a community-based, not-for-profit environment would be considered an asset.
