Description

If you are looking for a fast-paced accounting position with an established organization that provides opportunities for growth and development, this may be the opportunity for you!

Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will be held accountable for compiling and processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.  This includes, but is not limited to, processing invoices, verifying coding, cheque preparation, cash-outs, and remittances.  In addition, special requests for financial information and general accounting needs of the organization may be handled by the position.

Knowledge and Skills:
-Completion of a recognized accounting certificate or a post-secondary diploma in accounting or finance
-2-3 years of practical experience preparing financial transactions within approved processes and procedures
-Proficiency with financial management software including spreadsheets, databases and integrated financial systems
-Exposure to automated payroll systems would be an asset
-Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
-Practical experience working in a customer service focused business environment to empathize with customer concerns and complaints
-Demonstrated interest in teamwork through high quality interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers and the public
-Proven analytical, communication and organizational skills to multi task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
-Team oriented style with a can do service focus to achieve organizational results
-Availability to work irregular hours and work schedules, including game days
