Description

The Role:

Provide leadership, coordination and management of project management processes and functions from the Proposed Design and Bidding Stage through to fabrication and on-site construction while ensuring the projects remain on time and within budget
Lead/coach/support Project Managers, Project Teams, Engineers, and Field Staff regarding oversight of specification management and technical standards
Assign duties within the project team and deliver necessary technical and leadership assistance to ensure compliance with project budget, criteria and deadlines
Manage the activities of the project team to support steady workflow, maximum production, compliance with deadlines, regulatory requirements and efficiency of operations

The Ideal Candidate:

Minimum of 10 years of steel fabrication and/or construction management experience complimented by 5 + years of mid-level or higher project manager experience overseeing complex projects
Demonstrated track record of success managing major high value projects with responsibilities including quality, scheduling, and budgeting. Full cycle project management experience is essential complimented by a clear understanding of project management best practices
Significant successful experience leading and managing project managers
Experience with project P&L management including the setup and management of functional reporting mechanisms, contract reviews and organization of all contracts, maintenance and sub-contract management planning and estimating
Preference will be given to candidates with a post-secondary mechanical engineering degree or diploma. Candidates with a combination of steel fabrication project management and complimentary post-secondary education may also be considered
