Description

This position is available at any of our locations; Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw or Prince Albert.

Responsibilities:
The communications consultant is responsible for research, development and execution of communication and event plans, strategies and tactics in support of Saskatchewan Polytechnics vision, goals and objectives. The incumbent plays an important part in internal and external communications leading or contributing to efforts including: media relations, stakeholder relations and community outreach, internal communications, government relations, institutional writing support, budget management, event management and marketing/event material support.
Primary responsibilities for the position will be divided equally between communications work and participating as a full member of the Convocation team, providing event management expertise and execution.
The individual will contribute daily as an integral member of many teams, while having the authority to make independent decisions. The position is within a fast-paced, ever changing environment, where prioritizing, decision-making, problem-solving, and multi-tasking capacity is essential.

Qualifications:
1. A diploma specializing in public relations, event planning, or marketing from a recognized post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
2. Three years recent relevant experience in communications, event planning and/or public relations.
