Description

The following position is hereby posted in accordance with Article 9 of the Collective Agreement between Saskatchewan Government Employees Union and Rainbow Youth Centre.

Description: Working under the direction and supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Home Visitor in keeping with the policies, practices, and philosophies of Rainbow Youth Centre will provide ongoing intensive support services primarily through home visits, to assigned families and/or pregnant women.

Qualifications:
- 2 years combined education in the social sciences, social work, or human service field and/or relevant experience providing support services to families and working with young people.
- Preference for candidate with Growing Great Kids or Integrated Strategies training.
- Experience working with youth up to the age of 25.
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
- Aware of challenges common to vulnerable families.
- Knowledge of facilitation and teaching strategies used for one to one and in family settings.
- Ability to work with families undergoing high degrees of stress or experiencing crisis.
- Able to work independently and be a supportive team player.
- Able to multi-task.
- Experience with computers.
- Experience with reporting and documentation. (Interview process includes testing component relevant to this area. Pass required).
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Valid drivers license - Nonprobationary. (Transporting families as required in the job, vehicle provided).
- Able to work flexible hours (evenings required on occasion or as required by caseload)
- Able to lift up to 15kg  35 lbs. (typically car seats).
