Description

The City of Swift Current is seeking applications for the position of Superintendent of Streets & Roadways in the Infrastructure & Operations Division. This is a full-time permanent position.

This position reports to the Manager of Public Works and is responsible for overseeing all operations, equipment, and personnel within the Streets & Roadways Department. This includes responsibility for construction, repair and maintenance of streets, lanes, bridges, underground storm sewer collection system, overland drainage, sidewalks, etc.

Basic Requirements:
. Grade XII Diploma;
. Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Drivers License;
. Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check as we are a Youth Certified Employer;
. Five to ten years progressive experience in municipal operations & infrastructure maintenance including supervisory experience;
. Experience and knowledge in operating related construction and maintenance equipment;
. Ability to perform general checks and maintenance on related equipment;
. Computer training and experience;
. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations;
. Planning, scheduling, budgeting and project management experience; and
. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Requirements:
. Successful completion of post-secondary training in Civil Engineering Technology or a related technology course at a recognized Institute of Technology.
