Description

POS Bio-Sciences is a confidential contract research organization that assists clients with process and product development. We specialize in extraction, fractionation, purification and modification of biologically derived materials.  

As an Employee-owned company, we are looking for new members who not only want to work at POS but also want to be part of our exciting business.

We are looking for a new member to join the Research & Development team. The position will support internal research as well as provide real-time analytical support to client projects.  As a vital part of our Lab Services team, responsibilities include:

    Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory scale processes for subsequent transition to pilot scale production
    Operate, maintain and calibrate various laboratory equipment including troubleshooting
    Work collaboratively with Project Leaders and Scientists, delivering quality service to clients
    Accurate record keeping, ensuring documentation and data for reports is made in timely fashion
    Maintain a safe and professional laboratory

This position will be of interest to life long learners with a keen interest in developing their technical and professional skills to support the success of our labs through career development.

The ideal candidate will be a team player and understand the needs of other people and the urgency in meeting project deadlines. They will have a strong attention to detail.  Good communication skills, oral and written.  Be self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while always delivering excellent service, is essential.  Other requirements include:

    Chemical Technology Diploma; Food Science/Chemistry or related degree.
    One to two years of related laboratory experience
    Analytical aptitude with good problem solving and trouble shooting skills
    Experience with laboratory instrumentation
    Prior experience with  GLP and GMP techniques would be an asset
