Description

This position develops and strengthens long-term relationships with individual and corporate supporters, solicits major donations and legacy gifts, and seeks financial support from government and private granting organizations.

Key Duties:
Develop and implement strategies to ensure successful identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals, corporations, service organizations and charitable foundations
Generate revenue through annual/major/planned gifts, corporate gifts and sponsorship, and grant writing
Develop and implement successful campaigns and related activities
Coordinate internal and external communications and marketing strategies
Manage a donor recognition process
Develop and oversee donor and volunteer databases, and ensure privacy and confidentiality of donor info
Oversee admin tasks and recordkeeping
Plan/organize and attend donor events
Develop annual work plans and budgets
Provide education, motivation and support to the Board
Reports and presentations as required
Develop and maintain a volunteer base
Ensure compliance with CRA, etc.
Meet professional and ethical fundraising standards
Understanding and supportive of the Anabaptist faith

Education & Experience:
Post-secondary education in public relations, communications, marketing, non-profit studies or a related field
3 to 5 years progressively responsible experience in a fundraising environment including developing, implementing and managing fundraising programs
CFRE designation is an asset

Skills Required:
Proven success leading fundraising efforts to achieve objectives
Solid understanding of fund development, strategies and systems
Strong awareness and understanding of charitable legislation, regulations and accept practices
Experience with grant and proposal writing
Experience working directly with boards and awareness of non-profit management principles, governance, programming, finance and administration
