Family Service Regina has an opening for a full-time court caseworker within our Domestic Violence Services. The role involves providing information and supportive services to victims of intimate partner abuse. The incumbent will take an empowering approach to safety planning, liaising with the justice system, emotional and practical support, and referrals.
The successful candidate will have understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal violence and related issues as well as skills to readily engage clients, to assess needs and to offer client-centred support. Must be able to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse client group and with community professionals. Ability to contribute to a solution-focused team environment is essential. The successful candidate will be adaptable in approach, well organized and proficient in time-management. The candidate will have a strong aptitude for crisis intervention, supportive counselling and advocacy work. Ability to work effectively in demanding situations is required. Prior knowledge of the criminal and civil justice systems is a strong asset.
Typically, the required skills will have been acquired through education and experience within a human services field.
