Description

The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for the position of Instructor/Lifeguard II.  This is a permanent part time position.  This position may be required to work daytime, weekends, and evening shifts.

Under the direction of the Aquatic Superintendent, you will instruct and lifeguard.  Duties include conducting swim lessons, examining classes, monitoring aquatic facility activities, ensuring adherence to rules and safety regulations, co-ordinate staff in performing rescues, organize and participate in pool maintenance.  You will be required to supervise Instructor/Lifeguard I staff when required, and perform administrative duties.

Basic Requirements:
Lifesaving/SWIM Instructor            
National Lifeguard Service Award        
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation C Level    
Ability and experience teaching Aqua Fitness classes (preference will be given to candidate with Aqua Fitness Instructor Certification)
Ability to work effectively  with staff, management and the public
Physical condition must allow performance of strenuous swimming and lifesaving tasks
Aquatic Emergency Care

Desirable Requirements:
Examiner Status to Bronze Cross
Aquatic Supervisor Award    
Pool Operator Certificate

The Salary range is $23.00 to $23.92 per hour in accordance with the City of Swift Current/CUPE Local 183 Collective Agreement. The salary is currently under review. The City offers an attractive benefits package and pension plan.
