Description

Accountability
A Dispatcher/Office Clerk is accountable to the Transit Manager, Transit Board's Chairperson.

Authority
A Dispatcher/Office Clerk shall have the authority to act and react on a daily basis in the best interest for the Battlefords Transit System and its ridership. A Dispatcher/Office Clerk shall have the authority to schedule all riders and dispatch and schedule drivers as required to best serve the Battlefords Transit System and the community.

Responsibilities
Responsible to always represent the Battlefords Transit System in a professional and courteous manner. Responsible to build and maintain professional relationships with the community, funders, clients and other stakeholders.
Responsible for acting in the best long term interests of the Battlefords Transit System organization and the community.

General duties
Answer phones and radio communications as required.
Create and maintains pick up and drop off schedules in an efficient manner that best serves the Battlefords Transit Systems and its ridership.
Collect and balance fares and records from drivers.
Enter and retrieve required information into accounting/billing systems.
Performs office duties as required.
Manages fares, payments and petty cash transactions and prepares banking deposits.
Promote the goals and values of the Battlefords Transit Systems organization.
Abide by and enforce policies and guidelines provided by the law, transit board, community and funders.
Keep required records, reports and forms as needed.
Attend meetings as required.
Follow all reasonable instructions of the Transit Manager and/or Transit Board chairperson in a prompt and co-operative manner.
Other duties as assigned by transit manager or transit board.
Training will be provided to the right person.
