Description

Under the direction of the Settlement & Family Support Manager, you are responsible to assist with the delivery of client services by performing clerical and administrative duties in the area of Translation/Interpretation services for management, service delivery staff and clients.

- Good knowledge of the immigrant/refugee experience and the settlement process;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to clarify requests, deal empathetically and effectively with individuals under stress and negotiate disagreements;
- Strong computer skills including keyboard skills, word processing and data base applications;
- Fluent and literate in English, able to read and interpret regulations, guidelines and instructions; write simple letters for signature and give clear assessments both orally and written;
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and maintain financial, accounting and payroll records;
- Demonstrated skill in work accuracy and paying attention to details;
- Exceptional organizational skills; ability to take requests from several sources, prioritize work accordingly, work independently and work to deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to collect and report statistical information and prepare reports;
- Demonstrated effective listening skills;
- Good judgment, able to maintain confidentiality.

Experience/ Qualifications:
- Graduate of  a post secondary program in business or administration and one year of work experience in an administrative support capacity, or

- Post secondary training in business or administration and three years of work experience in an administrative support capacity.

-Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) certification - no criminal record (includes Vulnerable Sector Search) must be done within the last three months.
