THE OPPORTUNITY:
Carrier Forest Products is searching for a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or fourth year apprentice to be a key player in the maintenance of the Big River mill. The successful candidate is responsible for service operations by inspecting and maintaining equipment. This individual must be motivated while demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal heavy duty mechanic certification. Fourth year applicants will be considered as well.
Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
Critical thinker with the ability to problem solve.
Positive attitude, work ethic, and job performance.
Work on shifts, including nights or weekends.
Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.
THE DUTIES:
Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain equipment
Follow safe work practices and shop procedures
Seals and bearings
Basic cutting and welding
Engines and supporting systems
Complete all required paperwork and
Performs shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
