Description

The Saskatchewan Housing Network provides affordable housing to low-income seniors, families and others who could not otherwise access safe, secure shelter. The Living Skies Housing Authority (Regional Housing Operations) has an opportunity for an Area Manager located in their North Battleford office.

The principal functions of this position are:
-Be the principal contact for housing authorities, housing agents and management agreements. Provide support, direction and ensure adherence to regulations.
-Initiate, plan, direct and be the principal contact to housing groups for the development and implementation of tenant service programs at the community level;
-Oversee allocation of financial resources. Ensure financial targets are met and operation plans are achieved;
-Prepare, coordinate & deliver operational training to housing boards and managers. Assist in planning, coordinating and delivering regional & provincial workshops.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelors degree in Business Admin/Commerce, with 5+years of management experience; OR an equivalent combination of housing/human services experience and education. Certified Property Management (CPM) designation is an asset but not required.
Superior interpersonal skills. Proven track record of developing and maintaining positive relationships with boards, community leaders, tenants,service providers.
Experience in financial analysis, accounting and budgeting in a computerized environment.
Demonstrated experience with tendering and contract negotiations.
Ability to work with difficult, complex problems in a changing environment.
Familiar with acts and regulations affecting landlord-tenant relations i.e. SK.Human Rights; National Building Code, etc.
Extensive travel with frequent overnight stays. Valid drivers license,use of own vehicle.
