SASKATOON PUBLIC SCHOOLS REQUIRES A SENIOR PURCHASING ADVISOR
The Senior Purchasing Advisor plans, organizes, controls and manages the purchase of materials, supplies, services, and equipment. This includes developing and executing RFP/RFT processes from request to award, management of all contracts with potential suppliers and disposal of surplus materials. The Senior Purchasing Advisor assists the Purchasing Manager in the selection, assessment, development and supervision of staff assigned to the purchasing functions.
The successful candidate will have a diploma or degree in a business related function with five years progressively responsible supervisory and professional purchasing experience with knowledge of equipment, materials and services needs and quality standards. Preference will be given to candidates with the Supply Chain Management Professional designation. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and the business community. The successful candidate will have the ability to consult and work effectively with colleagues to provide goods and services that meet their requirements in an efficient and economical manner.
