JOB PURPOSE:
Promote and support company procedures and core values
Provide suggestions and guidance to improve processes
Promotes Lean Manufacturing process
Manages day-to-day performance of team
Set up, maintain and use KPIs
Ensures project timelines are met, providing feedback for improvements
Supervise and execute all activities assigned to team
Maximize efficiency by analyzing workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization
Reports to Shop Foreman
RESPONSIBILITIES
Act and coach in accordance with company core values
Meet or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost and delivery
Facilitate team meetings
Utilize problem solving methods to eliminate safety, manufacturing and quality issues
Read and interpret drawing
Facilitate continuous improvement activities
Investigate and facilitate continuous improvement opportunities
Assign tasks to team, ensuring maximum efficiencies and utilization
Ensure team members are trained and competent to complete assigned activities
Ensure daily equipment/building checks are performed
Communicate with Shop Foreman, status reports on assigned projects, issues and improvements
Collect teams time cards
Complete reports and assignments as assigned by Shop Foreman
Fill in for Shop Foreman as assigned
30% office based, 70 % shop based
QUALIFICATIONS
Welder, Fabricator, Pipe Fitter or similar trade experience
Welding quality inspection
Safety in the workplace (SASM or equivalent)
Welding Supervisor Ticket
Prior supervisory experience
Six Sigma Lean or 5S training/experience
A willingness to be coached and take training to improve personal skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Welding/Fabrication workshop
Outdoor work at Drill Rigs/Farm Yards, etc
Ability to lift 40 lbs, stand for extended hours
Willing to work flexible/extended work hours as necessary
