Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares an annual budget and monitors expenditures accordingly.
- Develops proposals for funding for community-based, summer student employment, and other post-secondary programs.
- Develop reports required by funding agencies.
- Negotiates with post-secondary Institutions for the delivery of community-based program delivery.
- Supervises post-secondary program support staff.
- Assist students with academic counseling/program outlines and providing post-secondary information and options to eligible students.
- Develop a resource data base of post-secondary programs and funding sources.
- Recommending policy revisions and ensuring that post-secondary policy is implemented in a fair and equitable manner.
- Ensure that a computerized student record system is maintained.
- Collect, organize, inspect and maintain statistical data and related information.
- Ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of post-secondary student support program policies and operating guidelines.
- Prepare the INAC Post-Secondary report annually.
- Access and recommend all new applications and provide a projected cost estimate for each priority category for review by the Post-Secondary, Head start and Daycare Board at the annual student selections and policy review meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate Degree in Administration or Education (other degrees may be considered).
- Experience in post-secondary program delivery.
- Experience working with student records and human resources.
- Experience in budget development and management.
- Excellent organization and coordination skills.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and data base programs.
- Ability to develop workshops and presentations to students and community members.
- An understanding of the challenges of First Nations post-secondary students.
- Awareness of guidance or coaching theories and techniques.
