Description

This is an excellent career opportunity for an energetic, highly motivated individual with the vision to evolve and grow a business sector, increasing its market share and advancing its technology and feature set.

Reporting to the Vice President, Communication Gateways and Planning Systems, the Product Line Manager will be responsible for the capture and profitable performance of projects within a product line, including:

-Oversee the development of software products for use in large, distributed systems;
-Assist with gathering product requirements from the market;
-Identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers, devise strategies to capture identified opportunities, direct the preparation of solicited and unsolicited proposals, and verification of cost estimates;
-Evolve the product line through the identification and business case justification of new product features and enhancements; and,
Maintain close liaison with existing customers to promote customer satisfaction and foster new business opportunities; and,
-Manage project teams including:
   -Schedule and budget requirements for each project/proposal;
   -Maintain accurate critical path schedule models;
   -Monitor the progress of the project/proposal;
   -Provide accurate and timely internal and external reporting; and,
   -Administer subcontracts with customer and suppliers.

This position will be of interest to candidates with the following qualifications:

-A solid technical background, with a Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Physics;
-Minimum 10 years of work experience in a software product environment in a leadership role; and,
-Demonstrated leadership and team building skills coupled with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

The position may require travel to customer meetings or site visits throughout the year to global locations.
