The Lands Assistant will be under the immediate supervision of the Lands Officer and the Trust Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Provides support to the Lands officer on lease management/monitoring/compliance of grazing, agriculture, and haying leases;
*Communicate with lessees inquiries/monitoring/compliance of lase conditions;
*Receives telephone calls/provides information for lease process;
*Support to the Lands Officer in planning/preparation of mtgs;
*General off ice duties/use of office machines;
*Maintain files, documents and retrieve information, as required ;
*Monitor pasture/range conditions/accurately record recommendations for concerns of drought/lack of water resources
*Monitor, repair or rebuild existing fences/bldg new fence with gates/braces according to the Trust fencing specifications;
*Calculate and determine the amount of fencing materials required for improvements;
*Transport fencing materials from supplier/to/from job sites;
*Checking/moving cattle with pickup or ATV;
*Receive, ship, move/sort cattle utilizing low stress handling techniques;
*Accurately count/record cattle intake/outtake;
*Ensuring that all vehicles/equipment /trailer/post pounder/loading chute/power and manual tools/water tanks/water troughs are cleaned/mechanically maintained and maintenance history is logged;
*Maintain/clean storage shed/yard or any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or Trustees.
Qualifications:
Work Experience in a related field of two (2) years/Possess a valid driver's license/own a reliable vehicle;
