Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Financial Accountant for a 1 year term in Regina. We are seeking an experienced professional with strong critical thinking and communication skills, who is detail-focused and analytical to support their accounting team and Canadian facilities.

The Role:

Perform month-end close activities and provide financial information and analysis
Preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
Supporting external and internal auditors with the performance of year-end and interim financial audits and reviews
Contribute to the completion of quarterly and year-end financial disclosures
Assist with confirming adequate internal controls exist and are maintained
Support team members with project completions and preparation of reports
Review and assist with sales tax remittances and inquiries
Preparation of reports required from corporate office when needed

The Ideal Candidate:

Completion of CPA or working towards designation complimented by 2-3 years of progressive experience
Strong working knowledge of IFRS and Canadian & US GAAP
Completion of a degree in finance, business and/or accounting
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite complemented by advanced Excel skills
Team oriented, self-motivated, able to manage own work flow, flexible and adaptable
Strong organization, problem solving and decision making skills
Ability to communicate and work effectively across all levels of an organization
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to use sound judgment, take initiatives, prioritize tasks and make accurate timely decisions
