Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, Saskatchewan's fastest growing and most innovative products dealer in their industry, to recruit a Controller based in Regina.

The Role:

Supervising the company's financial, legal and internal affairs
Training and supervising accounting staff
Providing ongoing evaluation of internal company systems as they relate to the company's ability to provide accurate financial reporting to management and clients
Exploring and developing new areas for company growth and profitability
Managing monthly closings and controlling the flow of data into the general ledger
Responsible for all financial matters including budgeting, forecasting, financial statements, funding activities, tax, insurance, preparing monthly balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Maintaining all corporate accounting records
Managing corporate policies and internal controls to ensure the company's financial reporting and general business practices are current
Ensuring payments to vendors are reviewed, verified, and approved
Maintaining adequate controls of receipts and disbursements
Ensuring the company's cash flow is adequate to meet its commitments
Protecting corporate assets through sound accounting policies and procedures
Contributing to corporate strategy and operations
Obtaining monthly projection of revenue and preparing annual and monthly expense forecasts
Ensuring proper calculation of and timely remittance to federal and provincial government bodies for income and corporate taxes, employee tax deductions, and all other payroll deductions

The Ideal Candidate:

CA or CPA designation
Minimum 10 years of full cycle, industry-relevant financial management experience
Experience leading and building a scalable and disciplined finance function
Advanced level MS Excel and MS Word skills with a solid working knowledge of industry relevant accounting software
