Description

Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), a leader in Canadian habitat conservation, is seeking an experienced professional to assist in the delivery of our regional conservation projects.
In this position, you will deliver, implement and evaluate programs including reviewing and promoting new developments and technical information in the area of forage establishment, forage production and grazing management systems.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong agronomic skills; someone who enjoys a complex, changing environment and is capable of managing a diverse portfolio of projects on tight deadlines.
Your five years of directly related experience, professionalism and outgoing personality will make you the ideal candidate for this which is based from our dog-friendly office in Yorkton.
Requirements
A post-secondary degree in Agriculture with a major in agronomy or related discipline; preference will be given to those who possess a P. Ag and/or Certified crop advisor designation
Previous experience with annual cropping systems and forage production
Skill sets include experience with field scouting, weed identification and subsequent control recommendations, nutrient management, crop production, forage selection, and the ability to manage seeding and spraying operations
Agriculture extension experience with farmers, ag retail and ag contractors
Strong planning, reporting and project management skills
An understanding of local agricultural, industry and conservation practices would be considered an asset
Experience with GPS, ArcView, MS Office, and airphoto interpretation
Excellent organization, interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
Valid drivers license, as some travel will be required for this position.
